President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Surv. Adamu Adaji for a second term as the Director General of the National Boundary Commission (NBC).
This decision was officially communicated through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, and shared with the media by Efe Ovuakporie, Head of the Information and Public Relations Unit.
Adaji’s reappointment, effective from August 7, 2024, is in line with the National Boundary Commission (Establishment) Act, 2006. His second and final four-year term will follow the emoluments and conditions set out under the Certain Political, Public, and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2008.
Adaji, who holds a MSc in Land Surveying from Ahmadu Bello University and an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri, joined the NBC in 1992 as an Assistant Chief Surveyor after serving as a Lecturer at ABU, Zaria. He eventually rose to the position of Director before being appointed as the substantive Director General in August 2020.
The President expects Adaji’s reappointment to enhance the NBC’s operations and help establish a peaceful boundary regime across Nigeria’s 86 interstate and international boundaries.
