Tinubu Directs Ministers to Resolve Payment of Withheld Salaries

President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Ministers of Finance, Wale Edun, and Education, Prof Tahir Mamman, to develop a plan for paying four months’ worth of withheld salaries to university non-teaching staff.

This directive comes after organized labor reported the Federal Capital Territory Police Command to the President for forcefully stopping their peaceful protest over the unpaid salaries.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) revealed this information while speaking to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting between President Tinubu and organized labor representatives.
