President Bola Tinubu has appointed Jami’u Abiola, the son of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, as his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
The appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to leveraging diverse expertise in governance.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
According to the statement, the appointment takes effect from November 14, 2024.
“This appointment is in line with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended,” Imohiosen disclosed.
Before his new role, Jami’u Abiola served as Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties within the Office of the Vice President. His previous experience positions him to contribute effectively to his current assignment.
President Tinubu, in a directive to the newly appointed SSA, urged him to collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure success in his new role.
Tinubu remarked that the appointee’s “wealth of experience would be invaluable in advancing the nation’s linguistic and foreign policy objectives.”
