It was fireworks today at the Timsed FM Quiz and Public Speaking Competition, organised by Timsed Radio, 94.1 FM.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee , the chairman of the committee, Femi Ojo congratulated the participating schools and encouraged the students to strive for excellence in all their doings, he further said the aim of the programme is to encourage learning among students, increase their public engagement skills and promote healthy competition.
Both public and private schools were represented at the elimination stage which held today at the station’s multipurpose hall.
Among the schools that participated in the program were Methodist High School Ilesa, Demonstration Teachers Training College, Ijebujesa, Christ Model College, Ijebujesa, Iloko Model College, Iloko-Ijesa.
Others are Community Grammar School Esa-Odo, First Class Group of Schools Ilesa, Federal Science and Technical College Ilesa, and Divine Mercy School, Ilo-Ijesa.
At the end of the round, DTTC Ijebujesa, Federal Science and Technical College Ilesa, Iloko Model College Ilesa, and Christ Model College, Ijebujesa made it to the final in the Junior School Category.
While in Senior School Category, Methodist High School Ilesa, Christ Model College Ilesa, Federal Science and Technical College Ilesa, and Iloko Model College, Iloko-Ijesa made it to the final.
Present at the programme was the Acting General Manager of the station; Mr. Olalekan Fabayo, a renowned educationist and retired principal; Mr Yemi Ayeni; teachers from different schools, staff of the station, among others.
The competition will climax on the 27th of May , 2023 at the Timsed FM Annual Children Day Party
