MThe Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a police officer, Ibrahim Maizabuwa.

The suspects, Ezekiel Kefas (67) and Stephen Zabadi (44), both hailing from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area, were taken into custody on November 19, 2024.

Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the arrests and revealed that the officer’s son, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa, had reported the incident to the authorities.

Investigations into the case have uncovered that the officer was killed and secretly buried in the community after visiting his friend, Ezekiel Kefas. Kefas, during questioning, claimed that the policeman was attacked by a group of thugs following an altercation at his home.

According to Kefas, “My friend came and started destroying property, including a pot of soup and water in my house, and assaulted people. This caused women and children to raise an alarm, which attracted a group of thugs who beat him to death.”

Kefas further identified those involved in the attack, stating, “Those who killed him include Yakubu, Suleiman, and Kilyobas. They beat him up with sticks until he died. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those responsible, but we didn’t find any of them.”

In response to the incident, Adamawa’s Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, has ordered a discreet investigation and the prosecution of those involved in the officer’s death.
