A devastating flood has swept through Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, destroying 80 houses and farmlands and leaving thousands displaced without belongings.

The flood, which began on Friday and lasted through Sunday, fortunately, did not result in any loss of life.

Yintim Nimilam, secretary of the Sabon Gida Community Development Association, described the situation as “unfortunate” and emphasized the severe impact on the affected households.

“Over 80 households have been displaced, and these individuals are now seeking shelter with neighbors, friends, and relatives,” he explained.

Nandul Solomon, a resident of the area, expressed the community’s distress, calling for immediate government intervention.

“We are appealing to the government and relevant authorities to come to our rescue,” he urged, stressing the urgency of the community’s needs in the wake of the disaster.
