A devastating attack on Faudiya School in Gaidam, Yobe State, has resulted in the tragic loss of three students, with one more injured. The suspected Boko Haram terrorists struck in the early hours of Friday, targeting the Shi’ite school belonging to the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).
According to a source, the assailants stormed the school, shooting sporadically and setting parts of the building ablaze. Three students, identified as Muhammadu Saleh (22), Ahmed Abdulrahm (21), and Abdullahi Adamu (21), were killed in the attack. A 25-year-old student, Sani Haruna, was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The IMN spokesperson in Gaidam, Mallam Mahadi Ibrahim, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers invaded the school, killing three students and injuring one. The Yobe State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, also verified the attack and the casualties.
The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in a state of fear and sadness. The motive behind the attack is yet to be determined, but it is believed to be linked to the ongoing conflict between the IMN and extremist groups in the region.
