Tedd said he was a broken man who hurt everything he touched and could not give his partner at the time the attention and care she needed.

The 49-year-old said societal pressure drove him into the arms of his first wife and love was never in the mix.

The single dad who lost his second wife said he still was not equipped to be a family man and his supposedly happy life was just a facade.

“You know how you grow up and you are told you are supposed to get married and live a certain way. I was just ticking boxes and then I realised I do not even love this person,” he narrated.

It later dawned on him that the woman who shared a bed with him every day was not the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

In 2007, amidst the heat of political tension in the country, Tedd left his family and moved to the US after helping produce Gidi Gidi Maji Maji’s song Unbwogable.

That was a defining moment for him and his young family as he spent significant time away from them.

While away, the father of three noticed he had deeply dented his relationship with his family and wanted a chance to make things better.

“I realised I wanted a second chance, I really wanted it. Now we have a bond with my kids, all three of them,” he added.

His second wife Regina Khatar died in 2017 after a short illness.

Her death occurred three months after she gave birth to the couple’s first child Jay Jay.

Since then, Tedd has been forced to bring up the girl alone and often offers tips to absent dads on how to step up and be better parents.

I will never give up on my children…
