After a first week full of activities and drama in the house, the duo Tami (Toyosi and Dami) became the first to be evicted from the ninth season of Big Brother Naija “No Loose Guard.”
The show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, made the announcement during the eviction show on Sunday.
The week saw the duos Ndinne (Nne and Chinwe) and Beta (Tjay and Ben) securing immunity from eviction.
Ndinne earned their safety by winning the first custodian challenge of the season, while Beta triumphed in the immunity challenge.
Facing the risk of eviction were the duos Chekas, Nelita, Shatoria, Aces, Wanni x Handi, Zinwe, Doublekay, Streeze, Tami, Mbadiwe Twins, Floruish, and Radicals.
This season introduced a twist where viewers were tasked with selecting the least four favoured duos for possible eviction, deviating from the usual method of voting for who should be sent home.
The duos Chekas, Tami, Streeze, and Radicals received the most viewer nominations. Subsequently, the remaining pairs were summoned to the diary room to nominate one of the selected pairs for eviction.
However, before that, Ndinne, exercising their custodian power, chose to save the Radicals from eviction.
After the housemates voted, ‘Tami’ was evicted from the house.
Reflecting on their exit, duo member Dami expressed no surprise, attributing their nomination possibly to issues she had with some housemates.
When asked “what next” after the house, Toyo said, “After the house, it’s back to the nightlife.”
After the eviction, Ebuka returned to address the housemates, delivering a stern warning. He urged them to step up their game, emphasising that “No Loose Guard” is a competition, not a place to relax.
He also cautioned some housemates against relying on their partners to do all the work, reminding everyone that success in the game requires full participation from every member of each duo.
