Support Youths Going Into Agriculture, TASUED Student Urges Ogun Governor

A student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ogun State, Mr Esuruoso Oluwaseun has urged government at all levels to encourage youths investing in agriculture as food availability and sustainability is key to national development.

The Ogun State student said this when he shared produce of his farming activities during the coronavirus pandemic that has fully or partially shutdown activities globally on his social media platform.

Meanwhile, in an engaging conversation with our correspondent, Esuruoso said he is a final year student of Tai Solarin University of Education, in the department of English language.

Esuruoso was also an alumnus of Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Ogun State where he studied English/Economics.

According to him, “Economics has been the reason I believe in production of crops and rearing of animals for Man’s consumption and that brought my interest to agriculture because many youths are running away from food cultivation for a White collar job that is not even enough to secure their future.”

“The world is gradually changing and people should move in same direction to allow that we grow what we can eat.”

“To the glory of God , I’ve been a source of blessing to old and younger ones through the harvest of my farm produce.”

“During this lockdown, my farm produce came out first, even before the frequent practice farmers in my community.”

“Apart from being a farmer, I also engage myself in other activities such as photography both still and moving as well as other related businesses, but I so much take agriculture as my priority.”

“I admonish government and privates sectors to encourage and sponsor youths who are interested in agriculture with a start-up soft loans.”

“The Ogun state government has more to do in order to make sure there is food surplus in our society and the youths are also ready to support in the “Building Our Future Together” agenda of the present administration.
