Operatives of the Ogun State So Safe corps have rescued a kidnap victim, Seyi Olorunsogo from his abductors at Onigbedu, near Ewekoro in the early hours of Wednesday.
Two of the six member kidnap gang, Umoru from Kwara State and from Kebbi State, were also arrested by the corps, during the rescue operation.
The corps commander, Soji Ganzallo, said one of his men was shot by the kidnappers during the operation and had been hospitalized.
The kidnaped victim was abducted along with his wife in front of their house at Solu rounder axis of Abeokuta.
The corps commander said the kidnappers released the wife, after the husband pleaded with them, after which they abducted a hunter, Francis Oke, in a forest at Onigbedu, near Ewekoro.
According to the commander, the hunter who managed to escape the kidnappers reported the incident to a patrol of the so-safe corps, who were joined by hunters to comb the forest.
In the process, the kidnappers shot the leader of the so safe corps patrol, while two of the kidnappers were arrested and four others escaped
Ganzallo has directed the corps to launch a manhunt for the escaping kidnappers, while those arrested had been handed over to the Ewekoro police station.
