The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against criminal activity, by apprehending three suspects involved in the theft and sale of stolen transformer armoured cables worth ₦9.8 million in OPIC Estate, Agbara.
According to a statement issued by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, Director of Information and Public Relations, the suspects – Mansirina Usman, Janadu Ahyarn, and Husseni Abdullahi – were arrested on June 27, 2024, at approximately 1913hrs following a tip-off from the Corps’ surveillance team.
The suspects confessed to purchasing the stolen cables from currently at-large individuals, Mustapha and Minister. The recovered exhibits include four off-cut armored cables, ₦18,850 in cash, three Android phones, two wristwatches, and two unmarked TVS motorcycles.
The three suspects and recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Agbara Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution.
Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander, commended the surveillance team for their swift action and reiterated the Corps’ dedication to combating criminal activities in Ogun State.
