According to Mrs. Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, “The accident happened at 7:40 a.m. and was caused by excessive speed on the part of the Toyota Sienna, which rammed into a moving truck from the rear.”

Two men and seven women were involved in the accident, resulting in the deaths of two men and four women. Three women sustained injuries and were taken to Patmag Hospital, Ogere, while the deceased were deposited at FOS morgue, Ipara.

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Ogun State, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as an avoidable act, saying “This crash would have been avoided if proper caution was fully put in place by the driver.” He urged motorists to exercise maximum caution while driving, emphasizing the importance of obeying traffic rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies.
