An aide to former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Mr. Olasheu Adebayo has dissociated himself from the alleged attack on Publisher of News Across, Timothy Odedina in Abeokuta.

Odedina had on Monday accused former governor Amosun for attacking him through his aide for criticizing the former governor on a WhatsApp group, Odeda Gbayii.

But Olasheu in a press statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday said the allegation of attack was far from the truth.

He said the allegation of arguments between him and Odedina on a WhatsApp platform never existed.

Timothy Odedina, Publisher of News Across

The former Consultant on IGR to Governor Amosun explained that, he only defended Senator Amosun’s administration that the former governor did not abandon any road projects in the state as contractors were busy working on all sites months after Amosun had left office.

Olasheu who equally took a swipe at Governor Abiodun for allegedly preventeing the contractors from completing the ongoing projects for cheap political blackmail on past administration.

He said he had nothing to do with the purported attack in Abeokuta as he was far away in Lagos busy with his businesses.

He therefore urged members of the public to discountenance the allegation.

The release further read; “In what appears like a comedy or a very big joke of the year, I read a blog making rounds lately tagged: ‘Pissing contest’ Police invite amosun aide over assault on journalist.

“In the very laughable writeup, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA name was mentioned. The blogger even insinuated that the former governor orchestrated an attack through my humble self on one Timothy Odedina. This clearly is an act of irresponsibly on the part of the so called journalist.

“Allegation of arguments between myself and the blogger on a WhatsApp platform; Odeda Gbayi never existed. I only defended the former administration’s actions on that platform.

“I submitted on the platform that the former governor did not abandon any road project as contractors were still working on all the sites months after Amosun had left government and feelers indicated that the contractors were stopped by the present government.

“Beyond the above, no further discussion ensued. I have nothing to do with his current issue with another person as I am far away from Abeokuta busy with my business. My Oga (Senator Amosun) is a peace loving man who will never AK that anyone be molested talk less of being attacked.

“I have the feeling that this blogger; Timothy Odedina is looking for some attention and or recognition perhaps for any patronage.

“I have never and will never be involved in any untoward behaviour and will not condone such acts whatever the circumstance.

“I therefore, dissociate myself with any violence as alleged in the blog making rounds. Finally, the Police have not invited me for any reason whatsoever.”
