In line with the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) goal of making Corps Members self reliant, Unity Bank of Nigeria PLC, as part of its cooperate responsibility initiative, has partnered with NYSC in organizing a “corpreneurship challenge” for Corps Members whereby the Corps Members are expected to submit a business plan and the best three will be picked and given a free start up grant of 500,000, 300,000, and 200,000 to the first second and third positions respectively.
While delivering the exhibition cheques to the Corps Members who won, during the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 Batch C Stream one SAED in-camp training at the Sagamu Orientation Camp, the State Coordinator Dr (Mrs ) Belinda Ameze Faniyi charged the Corps Members to leverage on the collaboration between NYSC and financial institutions such as Unity Bank, Bank of Industry, Central Bank of Nigeria, Credit Direct and Bank of Agriculture. She further enjoin the winners of the grant to use the funds for the purpose for which it was meant.
Dr faniyi advised the Corps Members to take the Post Camp Training seriously, adding that arrangement has been made at each Local Government Area within the State for the post camp training.
“Gentlemen Corps Members , it is well known that two weeks of training is not sufficient for thorough knowledge in a vocation. I Urge you to take the post camp training very seriously as you settle down in your various places of primary assignment” she said.
