Speaking to the press, King’s Ambassador Habeeb Whyte maintained that education and academic competitions are two most important ingredients of human life and these two have always been considered as important issues.

This idea is an effective way of motivating Secondary School Students in Ogun State to do well, thereby boosting their confidence, encouraging them to compete for more educative programmes, and having an interactive session with them on what lies ahead and be rewarded based on their efforts.

“Immediately I got the Royal Award, I told myself that it is necessary for me to bring the glories attached to the award to the basic level where leadership instincts need to be developed.

It is important to invest in the young population because they remain an integral part of social change hence the need to invest in them by mentoring and grooming them into the part of Leadership, Responsibility, Royalty and Honour. I do not want to be a passive ambassador.

I am grateful that with the3 four schools that we selected, we are able to speak to over 2,000 secondary school students and we are focused on doing more.

I must also appreciate my friends that joined me in training the students. The idea is for every one of us to grow our society and grow together with healthy rivalry”.

It was gathered further that 80 students have also been selected from the four schools visited as members of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum for Secondary Schools in Africa.

This is a platform that has been made available by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, (Ojaja II) to train and develop leadership and business skills among Secondary School Students in Africa.

The #IAMROYALTY campaign project is a core part of the activities of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum and it would be taken across all the Western States of Nigeria.

One of the students, Keshinro Elizabeth of Brightway International College, thanked the Ooni of Ife for this Laudable project and Ambassador Habeeb Whyte and Friends for the coming to their school.

We thank the Ooni of Ife for remembering us here and also thank Royal Amb Habeeb Whyte for the training and I am also happy to be the first automatic member of the initiative.” she said.

We have learnt a lot and we hope to make use of it in our day to day activities. I also can wait to meet the Ooni someday.
