Rotary Club of Laderin Hilltop Installs Victor Eniola Mark as Charter President

Rotarian (Omoluabi) Victor Eniola Mark, has been installed as the Charter President of Rotary Club of Laderin – Hilltop, District 9110 to direct its affairs for another Rotary year.

The inauguration which was held on Saturday at Green Legacy Resorts Hall, Presidential Hilltop, Abeokuta, Ogun State have in attendance rotarians, traditional leaders, philanthropists and well meaning individuals.

Speaking on his vision for the year, Mark said from the club’s standpoint, his administration would aim to do more, especially in the Rotary International Seven areas of economic and community development, peace and conflict resolution, improve maternal and child health, encourage basic education, disease prevention and treatment, improved water and sanitation as well as supporting the environment through various humanitarian donations and interventions.

He said, “As a pragmatic group, we understand the essence of time and have immediately set out to work. As I speak, we have concluded the assessment of a number of humanitarian projects to be sponsored by the club.”

“We have chosen to adopt the rehabilitation of the Primary Health Center at Laderin and we have secured a number of support for the sinking of a borehole and it accessories and the painting of the entire facility.

Similarly, towards actualization of the said projects, Mark called on well meaning individuals to support through goodwill and fat donations to the purse of the club for the realization of all its set projects.

Commenting on what inspired him into humanitarian services, Mark said: “I have always believed in developmental leadership and humanitarian service. This drive informed my establishment of an. NGO, Jaw Jaw Africa Community Media Support Foundation. This platform has allowed me to empower children and senior citizens as well as enhance capacity in our youths. Today some of these youths have grown into successful professionals, business and captains of industry.”

“The modest successes achieved through this foundation have encouraged me to want to do more Hence, my choice of joining Rotary International, he concluded.

In his address, Former Director General of Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Professor Armstrong Idachaba called for increased dialogue between media houses, practitioners and the commission to improve broadcasting practice in the country.

Idachaba who spoke on the theme, “Finding a Balance Between the Broadcast Code and Making a Commercial Radio Station Thrive In The Present Nigeria”, said the dialogue will offer opportunity for the review of the present broadcast code.

He urged broadcast Practisioner to ensure they harp on truth, fair and beneficial to all concerned while building a better friendship for all in line with the four way test of Rotary.
