Residents Of Ilesa Count Losses As Rainstorm Destroys Property

Property worth several millions of naira have been destroyed in Ilesa , Osun state following a stormy rain in the ancient city.

The 3 hours hard rain removed roofs of residential buildings and public infrastructures.

Worst hit are the people of General Hospital, Winuola , Bello streets all in Ilaje, Ita ofa and Idasa communities of Ilesa West Local Government Area.

Narrating his ordeal , an septuagenarian, Elder Apostle Olabode Bello whose house roof was completely blown off called on to the state and Federal Emergency Management Agency to come to his aid to protect his belongings from further damage.

Another resident at Wonuola street, mr Olatunbosun Olubunmi said the devastating development had caused serious damages to electric poles and other instantiations throwing the area in darkness.

Mr Olatunbosun urged the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to fix the damaged poles in time to salvage the situation.

Also touched was a section of the General Hospital which also has on of its buildings’ roof removed by the rainstorm .
