Rescued Journalist: Ogun NUJ Commends Police, Other Security Agencies

Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council has commended the Operatives of Ogun State Police Command on the rescue of one of its members, Oduneye Oluwaseun who is the Publisher of the Issues Magazines.

Ogun NUJ made this commendation known in a statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun and obtained by Tropic Reporters correspondent in Abeokuta on Monday, noting that Oduneye Oluwaseun was kidnapped by some gunmen on Thursday 9th of March, 2023 around 7:50pm at Mobalufon area of Ijebu Ode.

“The Chairman of the Union in Ogun State, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju with other members of the Union after receiving the distress call from the family swung into action by meeting the State Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Frank Mba, also made calls to the DSS office and informed the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps”.

“CP Frank Mba commanded the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Police Command in conjunction with the DPO Obalende Divisional Headquarters to give the case immediate and urgent attention which later gave a good result”.

“It is no gain saying that the Security Architecture in Ogun state is formidable and this has given every indigene of the state to sleep with their two eyes closed knowing fully well that our security operates are always at work”.

“The Joint effort of the Police, DSS and NSCDC really helped and the Union appreciates this success”.

“We want to tell the world that our man was rescued unhurt but on the other hand appeal to our members to always be security conscious and avoid late night movements, if not necessary”, he said.
