Renowned Islamic leader and Wakeelu Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Sheik Iskeel Lawal (Sugar), has congratulated the National Leader of All Progressives Congress and Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his emergence as Nigeria’s President – Elect in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
The Islamic leader disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday on behalf of the league of Imam and Alfas in Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, described Tinubu’s victory as a well – deserved one which will further contribute to the nation’s development and strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
Sheik Lawal while describing Tinubu as a dogged fighter who stood his ground to compete in the Presidential Election, said his success at the poll was premised on bravery and political influence.
While also congratulating the Deputy President – Elect, Senator Kasim Shettima, Lawal said the duo of Tinubu and Shettima not to back down on the promises made to Nigerians during their electioneering campaigns which has earned them the landslide victory at the poll.
“It is with great delight that I write to congratulate the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on his victory in the 2023 Presidential election, from which he emerged as the President – Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
“We know that this your victory was a well – deserved one and we are confident that you’ll work together with the Deputy President – Elect, Senator Kasim Shettima to ensure Nigeria thrives among the comity of state’s”.
“We know you are a dogged fighter who stood his ground to compepte in the Presidential Election following years of working for the entrenchment and strengthening of democracy in Nigeria, and we know that this opportunity will afford you to bring your wealth of experience in governance to use in the development of nation”.
“Your Excellency, We want to use this opportunity to remind you of all your promises to Nigerians during your electioneering campaign, it will be a great opportunity to see all your promises come to reality as part of effort to ensure even distribution of dividend of democracy to all and sundry”.
“To this end, we want to urge all contestants at the just concluded Presidential election to join hands and support the administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to lead Nigeria on the path of progress, Prosperity, unity and national growth “, he said.
