Relief, As Asamo Indigenous Youth Donates Borehole To Ogun Community

As part of efforts aimed at ameliorating problem of scarcity of water, assistance came the way of residents of Asamo community in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, as a youth based organization, Asamo Indigenous Youths donated borehole to the community.

The official commissioning of the borehole which was held recently in Abeokuta was attended by governments functionaries, religious and Community leaders.

In his welcome address, the Secretary of the association, Indigene Toheeb Shomorin said the initiative was aimed at reducing the scarcity of water which have been affecting the Community for the past eight years.

Shomorin said, ” this Initiative by the youth is to contribute our quota to make positive impact in Asamo Ifesowapo Community Development because they have been facing a lot of challenges in the community”.

He equally solicited for government intervention in the reconstruction of roads linking the community Bad roads, drainage system, and a host of other projects that can bring progress and development to the community.

While pointing out that mission of the youth group, Shomorin said, “Their Mission is to help community members to enhance their well-being and create social, economic and environmental conditions to move the town forward, while the vision focuses on frontier development and an unbiased partner in the implementation of strategies to achieve community and organizational goals”.

On his part, The Guest Speaker of the Occasion, Barrister Habeeb Whyte commended the laudable project embarked by the youth and encouraged them not to relent in their vision to promote growth and development.

Barrister Whyte said, “Let me commend the Former speaker Ogun State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo for doing it’s best to stabilize mutual cooperation and understanding for the most especially in the area of safety and security”.

While commissioning the project, the Former Speaker, Ogun state House of Assembly Rt. Hon Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo assured that Ogun State Government will continue in its effort to make life bearable for the citizens in regardless of location.

He congratulated the entire Magbon Community and commended the Asamo Indigene youth for the laudable project, while urging them for more greater role in the community, Ogun State and Nigeria as a Nation.

Important dignitaries at the commissioning of the borehole include; Chairman, Ogun State Management Park and Garages, Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin (iyeru); Senior Lecturer, Ekiti State University, Dr Orimaye J.A., M.D Geoland Consult Ltd, Surv Lemboye Adewale,mnis., Baale of Asamo village, Chief Nofiu Idowu O and a host of others.
