Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims of the recent tanker fire incident in Rivers State, which occurred when an articulated vehicle conveying petroleum products caught fire at the Eleme section of the East-West Road in Port Harcourt.
According to a statement from the presidency, President Tinubu commiserated with the government and people of Rivers State over the tragedy, which resulted in the loss of precious lives and property.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident and directed federal agencies in the state to continue working with the state government to provide immediate support to all victims.
The President also praised the bravery and dedication of the first responders in Rivers State for their quick assistance to those affected by the accident.
He expressed confidence that stricter safety regulations for the transportation of petroleum products would be implemented to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“We must do everything in our power to prevent such incidents from occurring again,” President Tinubu said. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragedy.”
