President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a special salary scale for teachers. The President has also increased the years of service for teachers from 35 to 40 years.
The approval concurred with commemorative event of the World Teachers Day which is celebrated every October 5.
Also, duration of service of teachers has been reviewed from 35 to 40 years.
This was hinted by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who represented the President on Monday in Abuja at the celebration of the 2020 World Teachers’ Day.
Adamu explained that the gesture was meant to inspire teachers for better efficiency and value.
