NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim today paid a condolence visit to the family of late Corps Member Owolabi Precious Ayo, who died as a result of gunshot injuries he sustained during the clash between lslamic Movement of Nigeria protesters and policemen in Abuja.
The deceased gave up the ghost at the National Hospital Abuja after all efforts to save him proved abortive.
While presenting a condolence message on behalf of NYSC Scheme to the deceased’s family in Zaria, Kaduna State, the Director- General described the death of the late Corps Member as a great loss not only to his immediate family, but also NYSC family and the entire nation.
General Ibrahim described Precious as a National hero who lost his life while serving his fatherland.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and also the fortitude to bear the loss by the Owolabis and NYSC family.
The NYSC boss told the Owolabi family that NYSC has an insurance policy for all Corps Members that lost their life while serving and that the family would be contacted in due course.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the father of the deceased Corps Member, Mr Ayo Owolabi, commended NYSC for the visit.
