Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspects in connection with the falsification of thousands of fake JAMB admission letters.

In a release signed by force PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects, Effa Leonard Mpama, Ibang Ernest Jerome, and Eshiet Odotukana Benson, were part of a syndicate that illegally accessed JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and e-facility, altering and deleting candidates’ admission letters and inputting fake details.

The police also recovered four fake domains and websites operated by the syndicate, and identified two principal threat actors behind the creation of the fake domains.

The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center for their efforts in uncovering the syndicate and reiterated the force’s commitment to protecting citizens both physically and in the digital space.

This breakthrough is a result of the joint effort between the Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to combat the menace of forgery and cybercrime in the admission process.
