Police Inspector Arrested for Cutting Off Pregnant Wife’s Hand in Jos

A police inspector in Jos, Plateau State, has been arrested for allegedly cutting off his pregnant wife’s hand during a dispute over N20,000. The incident occurred in the Dong area of Jos North local government area.

According to reports, the inspector had left the money at home and when he returned to find it missing, an argument ensued with his wife. The situation escalated, and he allegedly cut off her hand.

The State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that the inspector is currently being held at the State CID for investigation.

The Police Spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, said, “We are aware of the incident, and the man is an Inspector. He had a minor misunderstanding with his wife over some money, and an argument ensued. The case is under investigation.”

A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “The wife is pregnant and refused to give the man N3,000 from the N20,000. The argument was heated, and before we knew it, the man cut off her hand. We are concerned about her, and she was rushed to the hospital.”

The wife is currently receiving medical attention, and the investigation is ongoing. The incident has sparked outrage and concern over domestic violence and gender-based violence in the community.
