Police confirms abduction of Oyo lawmaker’s sister

Oyo State Police Command, on Friday confirmed the abduction of Jumoke Babalola-Oludele, a sister to one of the members of the State House of Assembly, Sunkammi Babalola.

It was gathered that Babalola is currently representing Egbeda State Constituency in the Assembly.

Our correspondent recalls that three gunmen had on Monday kidnapped the victim at Monatan area of Ibadan.

She was kidnapped on Monday, while coming from her shop.

The state Police command has confirmed the abduction.

Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, said that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the abduction.

He added that the suspect was arrested after the anti-kidnapping squad of the Oyo Police Command swung into action.

Fadeyi said, “One Jumoke Babalola Oludele ‘f’ age 35 yrs that was kidnapped while returning from her shop by an unknown armed men, one suspect arrested after the anti-kidnapping squad of the Oyo Police Command swung into action.

“The suspect is currently being quizzed to obtain useful information.

“Effort intensified to rescue the hostage and also to arrest the culprits.

“Further development shall unfold soonest, please.”
