Police begins manhunt for suspect over daughters death in Delta

The police in Delta have commenced manhunt for Mr.Sankey Ovemureye for allegedly killing his 6-year-old daughter Abigail.

The command spokesperson Edafe Bright made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, said the painful incident occurred on Saturday 15th June 2024 and was reported by the brother of the fleeing suspect that the father smashed the head of the girl on the floor repeatedly before she gave up the ghost.

According to the police, the DPO on receipt of the complaint by the brother swung into action and visited the scene at Agbarho, in Ughelli North local government area of the state where blood stains were discovered.

The corpse of the 6-year-old has since been deposited at the mortuary with the father who is at large termed the prime suspect.

The Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has ordered a serious manhunt for the fleeing suspect and assured members of the public that the suspect will be arrested and justice will be served.
