Police arrest suspected armed robbers, recover arms in Delta

The police in Delta says it has arrested five suspected armed robbery and kidnap suspects in the Delta communities of Oghara, Sapele and Agbor.

The command in a statement by its spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to newsmen, said the suspects confessed to be members of a secret cult group known as Juris confraternity.

They are said to be behind major criminal incidents in Oghara, Sapele and environs before they were apprehended under the orders of the Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda who directed ASP Julius Robinson to go after them.
Items recovered from them include two AK 47 magazines and twenty nine rounds of live ammunition, one barreta pistol and a locally made pistol, as well as Indian hemp and charms.

The Delta police commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda call on Deltans to continue to provide useful information to the command in ensuring that criminal elements are flushed out from the state.
