John Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has announced an investigation into Nigeria’s performance at the recent Paris Olympics.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Enoh expressed disappointment that Team Nigeria did not secure any medals despite significant investment.

Enoh revealed that over N8 billion was allocated for the competition, with many athletes receiving their payments in advance.

He attributed the poor results to a lack of motivation, despite the financial support provided.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Sports Development will conduct a comprehensive review of the factors affecting Nigeria’s performance.

He also called for reforms within the sporting federations, which he said often resist external oversight and interference.

“My role is to ensure our international performance improves. I am committed to addressing the issues that have impacted our sports engagements and preventing future setbacks,” Enoh stated.
