Oyo state government has concluded plan to subsidize by 50%, every hectare of land ploughed by Farmers in the state to address high cost of Food.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye revealed this today while featuring on the live Current Affairs Programme of BCOS, Kutuhai.
He stated that the government will be setting up seven Agricultural centers, seed coordinating committee which includes researchers and major stakeholders.
He added that the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration has taken a great step through SAfER, which includes distribution of 4th generation seed maize, with target to small holder farmers and presently more than 3000 farmers have already benefitted.
Barrister Olaleye while commenting on the land texture for cultivating, stated that 100 farm lands spread across the state will undergo testing as specimen.
He further noted that two farm estates that have been moribund are now coming to live with different Agricultural productions coming out from the farm estate.
