An online radio presenter, identified as Akanda Oro, popularly known as Awikonko, has been arrested by the operatives of Oyo State Police command over alleged defamation of character.

According to him, Janbele allegedly revealed Igboho’s secrets to the operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) that raided the Ibadan residence of the Yoruba activist who is currently being detained in Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

A senior Police officer who confirmed the arrest with The News Platform said Awikonko who has been hiding since the incident was arrested in one of his hideouts in Ibadan, the State Capital.

Also, Honourable Omolewu, told The News Platform that the online blogger has been in detention at State Command Headquartres in Eleyele area of the Ibarapa metropolis since Thursday morning when he was picked up by the security operatives.

Janbele said Awikonko will spend this weekend in custody and he will be charged to court on Monday.

It will be recalled that Igangan Community Development Association had denied the allegation levelled against Janbele and also issued a seven days ultimatum to Awikonko to retract and tender public apology to the entire community over the incident.
