The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has commissioned patrol vans and inugurated No. 72 Squadron Police Mobile Force in Ago – Are area of Oyo State as one of the activities to mark his one year in office.
In his statement, Governor Makinde said, “This afternoon, we commissioned the additional Police Mobile Force Squadron which commenced operations at Ago-Are in Oke-Ogun.”
“We decided that the new squadron should be based in Oke-Ogun due to its vast size, & the fact that it shares international borders with the Rep of Benin.”
“I thanked IGP Mohammed Adamu for acceding to our request for the additional unit and charged the officers to carry out their duties efficiently.”
“I stated that our administration remains committed to deploying the state’s resources to secure the lives and properties of the people of Oyo State.”
“We presented JAC trucks to the new unit and told the officers that we will not hesitate to provide any support that they may need to effectively carry out their duties, he concluded.

Those who also graced the commissioning include; Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operation), Abdulmajid Ali, Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone XI, Bashiru Makama, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Sina Olukolu and Aare of Ago Are, Oba Abodunrin Oyetunji Kofoworola among others.
