Oyo APC, NUJ, Others Mourn the Passing of Rep Member Musiliu Akinremi

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and other prominent individuals are grieving the loss of Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Akinremi, who passed away on Wednesday, was a dedicated public servant who had been elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023 under the APC banner. The APC expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing it as a significant loss to the party, Ibadan, and Nigeria.

In a statement, the APC praised Akinremi’s impactful leadership and numerous achievements, noting that his absence would be profoundly felt. The party highlighted his contributions to the development of his constituency and the state, as well as his philanthropic endeavors that touched many lives.

Similarly, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, and the NUJ Oyo State Council also lamented Akinremi’s passing. They praised his dedication to public service and his commitment to the well-being of his constituents.

The NUJ, in particular, highlighted Akinremi’s support for the media and his contributions to the development of journalism in Nigeria. The union described his passing as a significant loss to the media community and the nation at large.
