Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, on Wednesday, assured that his administration would pay the state workers modulated salaries that were not paid by the past anniversary.
Mr Oyetola who made this known in his country home in Iragbiji while speaking with newsmen pledged to be well committed to the welfare of the state workers.
“I have implemented minimum wage while many states are yet to do so. I am not reneging on my promise to pay salary arrears, but that will be subject to the availability of funds.
“Few states pay salaries now and I have been paying full salary since 2018 and I will intensify more efforts to put smiles on the faces of all and sundry in the state.
“I am waiting for money to fund the project, I would not construct or rehabilitate any road at all, that’s why we embrace alternative project fund policy.
“I have been in the finance management sector for over 30 years before I venture into politics, we chose our priority right, we don’t embark on a project we cannot complete.
“We don’t have enough money to embark on infrastructure but our people are demanding for roads rehabilitation, hence, we put on our thinking cap”.
“Once the money is available, I will still look into the possibility of paying salary arrears for both civil servants and pensioners in the state.
When asked about the crack within the All Progressive Congress ( APC) in the state, he assured that, in no distance time, all differences would be settled.
According to him, “there are ongoing efforts to reach out to those that had disagreements basically on principle with my administration with a view to resolving the issues.
“Election winners are determined by performance or ratings by people but most importantly, God determines winners of the election. There is no real quarrel in APC. What we have is basically disagreement on principle,” he submitted.
