Oyetola congratulates frontline journalist, Awoyinfa, on 70th birthday

Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has felicitated veteran journalist, editor and author, Mike Awoyinfa, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.

The Governor’s felicitation to the celebrant was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, in Osogbo, on Sunday.

Oyetola said he was delighted to join family, friends and the media industry in celebrating the Osun-born media guru as he attains the landmark age of 70.

He praised Awoyinfa for his dedication to the Journalism profession and his remarkable contributions to nation-building through his insightful interventions on national issues and wise counsel to political leaders, over the years.

According to him, Awoyinfa’s antecedents in the Journalism industry, spanning over four decades, will continue to inspire many, particularly young media professionals.

Governor Oyetola prayed that the renowned journalist will keep growing in strength, good health and wisdom as he continues to serve his country and humanity with his vast experience and knowledge.

Mike Awoyinfa, who was the founding editor of Saturday Concord and founding editor-in-chief of The SUN newspaper, hails from Ijebu-jesha, Osun. He was among the 28 distinguished citizens of Osun honoured by the State government in 2021 as part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of the State.
