Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has commiserated with a former deputy governor of the State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over the death of his father, Oba David Omisore.
The late traditional ruler died on Tuesday.
Until his demise, Oba David Omisore was the Olu of Olode in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State.
Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, also condoled the entire Omisore family and the people of Ife over the unfortunate incident.
He urged Senator Omisore and other members of the family to take solace in the fulfilled and exemplary life the late traditional ruler lived and to continue with the good works he left behind.
The governor said: “On behalf my family, government and people of Osun, I commiserate with former deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on the transition of his father, the Olu of Olode, Oba David Omisore. I also offer my heartfelt condolences to the entire Omisore family and the people of Ife.
“Baba Omisore was a respected father and an outstanding traditional ruler who, during his lifetime, exhibited the Omoluabi values of hardwork, discipline, integrity and commitment to the service of his people. He will be greatly missed.
“I encourage Senator Omisore and other members of the family to take solace in the fulfilled and exemplary life the late traditional ruler lived and continue with the good works he left behind, to keep his memory alive.”
Governor Oyetola prayed to God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and grant his bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
