Owu Kingdom Mourns the Passing of Chief Raobil Isola Akinsipo, Akogun of Owu

The Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, is deeply saddened by the loss of Chief Raobil Isola Akinsipo, the Akogun of Owu Kingdom, who passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. In line with Islamic rites, Chief Akinsipo was laid to rest the same day.

In a statement signed by Chief Dr. Abiodun Lasile, Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, the kingdom expressed its profound sorrow over the passing of Chief Akinsipo, honoring his life of service, dedication, and leadership.

“As a distinguished leader, he embodied exceptional service and dedication to humanity,” the statement read, highlighting his invaluable contributions to the Owu community and beyond.

Chief Akinsipo served Owu Kingdom in numerous capacities, including as the Head of Iwarefa Owu. He was also a seasoned broadcast professional, a specialist in the Yoruba language, an insurance consultant, and a dedicated traditionalist. His leadership and wisdom were cherished by the people of Owu Kingdom, and his passing has left a significant void.

The statement further noted: “His unwavering commitment to service, profound wisdom, and significant contributions to the Owu Kingdom have left an irreplaceable void in our community.”

The Owu Kingdom prays for the eternal rest of Chief Akinsipo’s soul and hopes his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. “May his memory be forever blessed,” the statement concluded.
