The Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, in oriade local government area of Osun State, Oba (Dr) Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, on Friday installed seven traditional chiefs to fill the vacant traditional Chieftaincy titles of Saba, Bajemo, Yeyero, Yeyesaba, Yeyedofin, Yeyejemu and Yeyenurin of the ancient community.
Those installed to occupy the vacant positions are; High Chief James Ademola Osedahunsi (Saba), Chief Makinde Akinwumi (Bajemo), Chief Mrs Wuraola Bosede Ogungbangbe (Yeyero), Chief Mrs Rachel Adesuyi (Yeyesaba), Chief Mrs Christianah Morolayo Oni (Yeyedofin) and Chief Mrs Christianah Ogunsuyi (Yeyenurin).
The monarch in his address charged the new traditional chiefs to see to the continued development, progress and peaceful coexistence of Iloko Ijesa.
He said they should see their Chieftaincy positions as a call to duty by working for the good cause of Iloko Ijesa and her citizens.
According to him, they should see themselves as an ambassador of Iloko Ijesa.
In the same vein, the newly installed Chiefs pledged their allegiance to the monarch and also expressed commitment towards the development of the ancient community.
High Chief Akin Satiregun (Baba Àró), High Chief Sayo Dada (Wasaye) High Chief Adubi (Yeyerisa), Chief Olufadeju Eyebiokin (Sàwè), Chief Odekunle (Legbewa), Chief Mrs Ojo Owoola (Sapaye), Chief Kehinde Odeyemi (Logan), High Chief Kehinde Odelusi (Oba Àwòrò), Princess Kemi Oshodi, Prince Lekan Oduntan, Dr. Ige Fagbohun, Pastor Kojeku and Mr & Mrs Bobajo were among important dignitaries that attended the epoch making event.
