Owaloko Felicitates With Christians, Tasks Them On Peace, Unity At Christmas

The Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa in Osun State, Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, has felicitated with Christians on this year’s Christmas celebration, which signifies the birth of Jesus Christ.

According to him, the annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ is a good time for all Nigerians, regardless of faith to rededicate themselves to the virtues and ideals Jesus Christ.

“Christmas signifies hope and salvation brought to the world. This country and the world at large would be a better place if the values and virtues reflected by the holy birth of Christ, especially love for one another, were practiced faithfully”, the monarch stated.

Owaloko appealed to Nigerians to use the festive period to foster peace and unity amongst themselves irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliation.

The traditional monarch made the call in a goodwill message to commemorate the birth of Christ Jesus widely celebrated as Christmas.

As explained by him, Nigeria needs to harness its diversity as a strength and not an hindrance.

“We must embrace peace, unite and tolerant each other for development to thrive”, he stressed.

He felicitated with Christians across the country as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

He called on all Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasize tolerance, patience, brotherly kindness, care for the needy and love for one another, among other virtues.
