Residents of Osun State, mostly youths, continued their protest in Osogbo, the state capital, on Friday, demanding an end to hunger, hard economy, and bad governance.
The protesters, who started their demonstration on Thursday, observed Jumaat prayers on the road, demonstrating their commitment to their cause.
The protesters, undeterred by the scorching sun, gathered on the streets to press home their demands. They are calling on the government to address the crippling economic hardship, soaring food prices, and widespread hunger that have become a daily reality for many Nigerians.
The protesters are also demanding an end to bad governance, citing corruption, incompetence, and a lack of accountability as major factors contributing to the country’s woes. They are demanding a more responsive and responsible government that prioritizes the welfare and well-being of its citizens.
The protest has been peaceful, with the protesters carrying placards and banners with various inscriptions, chanting slogans, and singing solidarity songs. The police have been deployed to maintain law and order, but the protesters have been unruffled, determined to press home their demands.
The protest is part of a nationwide demonstration against the government’s failure to address the country’s economic and governance challenges. The protesters in Osun State are demanding that the government listens to their plight and takes immediate action to address their grievances.
