The remains of late Ambrose Oluwayinka Alabi, the elder brother to the Osun State Deputy Governor, Benedict Alabi was laid to rest on Tuesday, amid strict social distancing directive.
The late Alabi was interred at the family’s burial ground situated in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, following a service at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, located in the town .
Recall that Alabi, whose career in the corporate world spanned over forty years passed away on 8th March, 2020, at the age 69, after a brief illness.
He started his career with Lever Brothers, now Unilever in 1978, shortly after completing the 12- month mandatory youth service, and until 2009, when he voluntarily resigned to go into private business, he was the Marketing Manager of Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL).
The late frontline Marriage Counselor and devoted member of the Catholic faith was born on 18th July, 1951, into the family of Late Pa John Oyeyemi Alabi and Late Mrs. Eunice Baderinwa Alabi of Elere Compound, Popo, Ikire, as the second in the family of nine .
He attended Holy Cross Primary School, Ikire, and in 1965, he gained admission into St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo. In January 1970, he was admitted into Loyola College, Ibadan, for his Higher School Certificate, where he exhibited exceptional academic strength and rare brilliance.
In 1973, he gained admission into the University of Ibadan, where he studied Geography in the Faculty of Social Sciences and was a great and proud Kutian.
He has been adjudged by many as gentle and peace-loving, with forthright disposition, the virtues, according to them endeared many to him during his life time.
