As stated in the BBC News, the United Nations Organization Secretary General António Guterres has warned the violence in Sudan risks causing a “catastrophic conflagration” that could engulf the whole region and beyond.
It will be worthy of note that the present debilitating state (fighting) in Sudan started on 15th April 2023 when the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) duly led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better Known as Hemedti were deployed around strategic location in Sudan, as a result of this positioning of RSF, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) with Abdel Fattah al-Burhan being the leader termed that as a threat to the stability of the Sudanese State, then there was an interception between the Sudanese Army and the RSF forces.
Since the outbreak of conflict in Sudan, the third largest Africa Country, with Arabic and English Language being their official language and Islam being the dominant religion in the Country, about 400 people have been killed.
This depict that the present crises in Sudan goes beyond Conflict but War, in a National dispute that claim the lives of 400 Human being in less than one Month according to the investigation and research carried out by World Health Organization, this calls for a declaration of state of emergency within the shores and borders of Sudan by the World governing body like United Nations Organization.
Gen. Dagalo accused the Sudanese Political leader Gen. Burhan as being “radical Islamist” seeing his plight as a defense for Democratic Governance in which He, the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the people has been yearning for.
The main sticking points are plans to include the 100,000-strong RSF into the army, and who would then lead the new force. (BBC News)
Since a 2021 coup, Sudan has been run by a council of generals, led by the two military men at the centre of this dispute – Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of the armed forces and in effect the country’s president, and his deputy and leader of the RSF, Gen Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemedti.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said an agreement had been reached between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after 48 hours of negotiations, this was announced on BBC News.
As a matter of fact major countries Nationals has been evacuated from Sudan, for instance according to the News reaching me as at the time of filing this report Two thousand, eight hundred (2,800) Nigerians are expected to be evacuated today Tuesday 25th, April 2023 from Sudan.
With the close observation and my research, I have come to realise that War is strategic but in the case of Sudan conflict this is not strategic in nature, there is no target for launching of attack, I see the situation as a state of anarchy whereby the government does not have influence upon the forces fighting, the forces has and might launch an attack as will.
That’s why no one in Sudan is safe right now.
There needs to be an evacuation of countries Nationals from Sudan with immediate effect for their safety and peace.
Negotiation is the only way out as a panacea to the catastrophic conflagration on Human beings in the present Sudan outbreak of War.
Also the United Nations Organization needs to install normalcy within the Sudan Territory for comfort and safety of Sudanese residents.
