Through a crucial leadership trait, a nation can live in prosperity and peace.
Why are advancements in Nigeria still stalled? As the nation’s continent experiences significant demographic increase paired with economic stagnation, poor leadership is a barrier to development.
Based on a research, Nigeria won’t be able to take advantage of the demographic dividend over the next two decades unless there are immediate responses and answers to her leadership issues.
According to the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative and the National Bureau of Statistics’ National Multidimensional Poverty Index Report from the previous two years, 133 million Nigerians are multidimensional poor, or denied access to their social rights such as poor health, inadequate living standards, a lack of education, and living in environmentally hazardous areas. These were linked to the ineffective leadership of Nigerians.
A country will experience deterioration whenever its leaders lack integrity, fairness, and legitimacy. Proverb 11vs14 (NIV), “Victory is won through many advisers, but a nation falls for lack of guidance.” It is obvious and evident that such revolutionary leadership is desperately needed in our beloved nation. Churches, homes, youth groups, and entire societies are in dire need of leaders, and the answers to our social, moral, and economic issues lie in leaders who are just and righteous.
The Social Rights and Christian Leadership Forum’s (SRCLF) is a special breed of social rights with the aid of the Holy Spirit, set up to liberate people from any form of Mental, Physical or spiritual captivity through workshop to address collective needs, social injustice, leadership problems and probably proffers solutions and propelling people for good leaderships position in society.
The Forum organised her inaugural workshop on Zoom tagged: Change and Effective Leadership by members of SRCLF Led by Comrade Oguntimehin Oluwafemi John.
SRCLF services and operations are not limited to only Christian but it includes: Muslims, pagan, Traditionalist and anybody known as human being worldwide.
John F. Kennedy once said that “in every unjust society, silence is a crime” and that “those who fold their hands when the country is in a state of moral crises are reserved for the hottest part of hell.” Isiah 62:1 warned us not to remain silent until the Jerusalem (Nigeria) is being delivered.
Based on the aforementioned, the founder and National President of SRCLF, Comrade Oguntimehin Oluwafemi John along with the two presenters, Comr. Felix Izimoh and Comr. Tobi Ope are urging Nigerians and the general public to adopt good leadership traits and have the courage to speak out for the betterment of our dear country whenever our leaders fail in leadership role.
To improve the lives of the poor, the Nigerian government must amend her constitution and hold all of the leader’s at all parastatal levels and in all spheres of authority accountable for any task they are given. Doing so will significantly lower the level of corruption in the Nigerian system.
The Forum, SRCLF, encouraged the government to increase funding for the health and education sectors as well as to safeguard and advance our social rights, particularly for the country of Nigeria’s poor, lives and properties are key issues for government at all levels not to sweep under the carpet. With all of these points, the level of our youths’ addiction to hard drugs, propensity for sex markets, and rate of movement outside the country, which frequently exposes them to dangers in foreign lands in the name of “JAPA,” will be drastically reduced.
Therefore, the Social Rights and Christian Leadership Forum implores all government, business, and religious leaders—including Christians, Muslims, and others—to understand what leadership encompasses and to make use most of their positions with justice, fairness, and respect for others.
