OPEJI TITUN AREA CDC IN OGUN GETS NEW LEADERS

The Opeji Titun Area Community Development Committee, ACDC, located in Albarka / Ajegunle /Ile pupa / Ilupeju area of Odeda Local Government of Ogun State has elected new executives to run the affairs of the ACDC for a three – year tenure.

The election ratification /inauguration of Opeji Titun Area CDC Executive members and verification of documents by the state ministry of Community Development ahead of the creation of Opeji Titun out of Opeji Area CDC was held on Saturday 25th August, 2019 at Aduragbemi Community Development Association, Albarka area, Abeokuta which was conducted by officials of Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, under the supervision of Mrs. S. A. Adegun, Zonal Officer of the Ministry, Deputy Director of Ministry for Community Development, Elder Mudasiru Olayemi and the Zonal Chairman of Odeda Local Government Community Development Association, Alhaji Sheik Iskeel Lawal Sugar.

The newly elected officers include: Alhaji (Asiwaju) Nurudeeen Dapo Wahab – Chairman, Mr. Durosimi Moruf Alao – Vice – Chairman, Pastor Ademola Ajokanle – General Secretary, Alhaji Bolatito Alaran – Treasurer, Imam Azeez Kalejaiye – Financial Secretary, Elder Babatunde Osinowo – Auditor, Mr. Akeem Ilesanmi –  Assistant Secretary, Mr. Ganiyu Olatunji – Public Relation Officer 1, Mr. Obasa Babatunde Suleiman – Public Relation Officer 2,Engr. Rasheed Makinde – Legal Adviser, Mrs. Bose Oluwabunmi Akinbo –  Women Representative, Deacon Mathew Durowoju – Social Secretary, Alhaja Walilat Bakre –  Welfare Officer, Alhaji Jamiu Junaid –  Ex –  Officio 1,Mr. Amisu Sobola – Ex – Officio 2, Hon. Lukmon Adeyinka – Ex – Officio 3.

While speaking at the event, the representative of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR and other relevant government functionaries, Deputy Director of Ministry for Community, Elder Mudasiru Olayemi charged the Executive to be more dedicated to the development of their community and he further reiterated the determination of the present administration in Ogun State towards ensuring good community development for the benefit of all. He said the community should expect more laudable projects from the state government.

On his part, the Zonal Chairman of CDC, Alhaji Sheik Lawal Sugar said community development does not entails political practice but an avenue to further strengthen the development of its numerous dwellers but to synergize with government at all levels. He added that the community would continue to enjoy robust relationship with the government in terms of projects and developmental facilities. 

Earlier in her address Mrs S. A. Adegun tasked the community officials to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the CDC and warned the officials to avoid unconstitutional activities as such may not be to their interest or that of the community they were elected to serve. 

She stressed that anybody found wanting will be prosecuted accordingly.

She emphasized the important of regular monthly meetings by the community and the importance to liaise regularly with the supervising ministry.

Speaking after the peaceful election ratification, inauguration and presentation of certificates to the Executives, the Chairman, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab on behalf of other newly elected officers assured that the team will contribute meaningfully to the growth of the community.

He thereafter sought for cooperation of the residents, pointing out that the task ahead should be seen and regarded as everybody’s affairs. 

Asiwaju Dapo Wahab also mentioned some of the remarkable and laudable projects embarked upon by the Community Development Committee such as Education support projects for students, road maintenance across all the CDC’s, solidification of residents security by engaging with some security operatives, provision of potable water, education support foundation, women development, youths development Initiatives, shasha training and mentorship programmes etc. 

“On behalf of all newly elected executive, I want to assure the community of our commitment and dedication towards the progress of all. We are not going to disappoint you, because for electing us, you must have seen some qualities in us,” he stated.

While lending his voice, the Chairman of Opeji Area CDC, Engr. Adekunle Adeoye popularly known as ISO thanked God for opportunity given to them to see to the creation of Opeji Titun area CDC out of the former Opeji Area CDC. 

He noted that it would enhance continued sustenance of peace and unity for mutual development cum peaceful coexistence between the two area CDCs. 

He equally commended the newly inaugurated executives and charged them to further work for the betterment of the Opeji Titun, the new born baby. 

Other distinguished dignitaries in attendance includes; Alhaji Sanyaolu, Baale of Bode Olude, representatives from the ministry, Mr. Faruk, Mrs. B. M. Ajayi, Mrs. Aderonke Akinyide, Mr. O. O. Akinyode among others.
