Ibadan, Oyo State – Governor Seyi Makinde has assured that the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will be installed as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland once he recovers his strength.
Makinde made this announcement at the final burial ceremony of the late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, on Saturday.
The Governor confirmed that he has accepted the recommendation of the Olubadan-in-Council, which nominated Olakulehin as the next Olubadan.
He emphasized that due process has been followed in the selection process.
Although Olakulehin’s health was previously questioned by the Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abimbola Ajibola, Olakulehin has since declared his medical fitness and readiness to assume the throne.
The installation ceremony will take place as soon as Olakulehin’s health permits, according to the Governor’s statement.
