Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed his commitment to making the festival a global event, highlighting its significance as a symbol of unity and a rallying point for the Ijebu people.

The festival featured a range of cultural performances, traditional drumming, dancing, and music, as well as a grand procession of the Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, including plans to include the festival in UNESCO’s world cultural heritage.
He emphasized the state government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for business and fostering community development.

The event also solicited support for the upcoming 20th National Sports Festival, Gateway Games 2024, which will be hosted in Ijebu-Ode.
He said, “We are poised to make the Ojude Oba festival a global event”.
“We are committed to making this festival a permanent fixture in the global tourism industry and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, including plans to include the festival in UNESCO’s world cultural heritage.” Governor Abiodun said.
