The Coalition of Ogun Youth Forum, under the leadership of Mr. Sodeinde Daniel, has opted for a more diplomatic approach as they presented their demands to the Ogun State Government (OGSG) rather than resorting to street protests following current hardship in the nation.
The youths made this presentation today during a courtesy call on the Secretary to Ogun State government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Expressing confidence in the government’s responsiveness, Mr. Sodeinde stated, “We believe the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government has consistently listened to the people, and we saw no need to take to the streets when we can peacefully present our demands to the government.”
He emphasized the decision to engage in dialogue instead of protest.
During the meeting, Mr. Sodeinde presented the coalition’s demands, acknowledging that some extracts were already public but believed it essential to reiterate them directly to the government.
In his response, the Secretary to Ogun State government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, expressed optimism that the state government would take necessary steps to address their concerns.
He acknowledged the youth’s approach, recognizing it as a testament to the trust relationship between the government and the people.
“Our administration though not oblivious of the plight of our people including the youth at this time, notwithstanding the approach of our youth in the state is fascinating and noteworthy as it does suggest that our government has built a trust relationship with the people”.
“This is evident of what we stand for, never to deprive anyone what is legitimate even though it has to discussed in a decorous manner”, he said.
