Ogun To Redevelop Old Buildings In Urban Areas

Ogun State Government is to re-develop some of the old buildings in Abeokuta, the state capital, and other major towns across the State

The redevelopment is being undertaken under the regeneration scheme of the Abiodun Admnistration.

Physical Planning and Urban Commissioner, Olatunji Odunlami announced this at a stakeholders meeting organized by the Ogun State Slum Regeneration Authority on the regeneration of the 100 metre Itoku-ikija corridor in Abeokuta.

He explains that the scheme aims at guiding indegenes intending to redevelop family property and developers seeking to putting up building in the areas.

The commissioner said the agenda of the scheme is not to take over properties or land, but to boost tourists appeal, social economic landscape through incresed trade and commerce in old areas of urban areas in the State.

The Osile of Oke Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, represented by the Oluwo of Oke Ona Egba, Chief Samson Ogunmade, thanked the state government for including the Ikoja community in its regeneration scheme.
