Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has advised Nigerian youths against engaging in protests or acts of violence on Independence Day, October 1st, in response to grievances over bad governance.

The governor urged the youths not to allow themselves to be manipulated by “agents of destabilization” seeking to incite unrest and disrupt the peace.

Abiodun made the appeal in Abeokuta, the state capital, following a special interdenominational church service marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration.

The service was held at the Cathedral of St. Peter’s, Ake, and was attended by various dignitaries and members of the public.

In his address, the governor acknowledged the socioeconomic challenges facing the country but encouraged Nigerians to remain patient as the government continues to implement policies aimed at addressing these issues.

He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, emphasizing that the nation is on the path to achieving equal opportunities, growth, and development.

“We must remain steadfast and avoid being used by those who wish to create disorder,” Abiodun said. He further added, “I am confident that with continued efforts, we will build a better Nigeria for everyone.”

The governor concluded by calling for unity and cooperation among citizens as the country navigates its current challenges, urging all Nigerians to look forward with hope and determination.
